ben foster “weasel” is a dirtbag. a practicing roman catholic, apparently (you make your own conclusions about whether or not this has anything to do with his view of women. i’m not saying anything. there are many catholics who haven’t inherited their faith’s fucked up views of women and their rights. who knows if mr. benjamin is one of them). what is it with aging musicians with fading fame and young daughters being complete creeps to young women? oh, benjamin. you don’t fucking hit anybody unless they deserve it. and by “deserve it” i mean “unless they do something bad.” and by “something bad” i don’t mean throw ice in your face at a free concert during a drunken, overpopulated music festival in 40 degree heat. none of that says “get off stage and punch her, and then punch another woman 20 years younger than you and half your size who’s trying to get you under control just because you’re pissed that you’re playing for free.” people have tried to pull the “saying he was wrong is sexist. if you want equality, then women should be dealt with by men just like other men” card. in and of itself, that logic is twisted and entirely sexist. as long as there are the categories of “man” and “woman,” we’re going to have this problem, and we’re going to have this argument. i’m shutting up now. no one’s paying me, and therefore, no one’s getting an essay. plus, little benjamin has received enough of the world’s time. if his daughters don’t hate his ass for something else by then - which seems entirely possible - i can’t wait for the day the internet tells them the biggest thing he’s ever done in his life is punch 2 girls multiple times at south by southwest.
